I’m Denise, a printmaker living and working in Kent. I am inspired by the natural world around me and places I have visited. 

When planning a print I record my work by sketching ‘plein air’, taking many photos and writing notes to use later for reference in my studio.

I like to use traditional grey linoleum because of the way it behaves and breaks when carving. I use lightfast safe wash oil based inks and extender, which gives me that painterly, feel to my work. I also like to explore and use other printmaking methods to keep my work fresh.

I graduated from Canterbury Christ Church in 2014 with Primary Education degree with art as a specialism subject. I also graduated from Medway College of Design in the early 80’s with credits in a diploma British Display Society 1 & 2 (3D design).
